BIOGRAPHY
Tony Terrell is an accomplished master of the steel drum, with over 40 years of experience. Since coming to America in the early seventies, he has showcased his talents in well over 1000 different venues, from Leviticus in the 70’s to The Brook in 2015. Tony Terrell’s Quartet has played the entire Atlantic City boardwalk, Martha’s Vineyard, The Stamford yacht club, South Beach Miami, the Florida Keys, and many surrounding venues along those routes. His audience has been in excess of 8000 people, and as private and intimate as a wedding proposal.
As the founder and leading member of Tony Terrell’s Productions, his Jazz influenced playing style has garnered many reviews and accolades from those in the Calypso jazz community as well as the NAACP, PAL, Harlem Summer Stage and many others. In addition to those acknowledgements, Tony Terrell’s quartet was personally requested to perform in honor of the famed, Olu Dara at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, by none other than Olu Dara himself. Where the legendary Jazz musician was being honored for his many contributions to Jazz artistry and cultural awareness. Tony Terrell’s distinctive sound as a craftsman on the steel drum, has no comparison, in terms of harmonious tranquility. His smooth sultry playing style supported by cast and crew, will set the stage and maintain the mood, for a joyous and memorable occasion.
